More information on some children of John Neil and Mary Anne Chrystal : Part 3 Elizabeth Chrystal Neil

Elizabeth Chrystal Neil and John McGowan and their Children
Continuing on from the previous post regarding the life of John Neil, I already knew a lot about the next child, Timothy Chrystal Neil, my grandfather, and quite a lot about the child after that – Elizabeth Neil b. 25 Jun 1895 in Glasgow. But Lisa Cooper’s tree also had some information I did not have about the children she had with John McGowan who she married in 1914 and with whom she went on to have thirteen children – most of whom survived childhood.
The following information is given for each of their children and I need to check the veracity (Lisa has been 100% accurate to date) and add the information I do not already have to my tree. She lists the following

Dorothea McGowan

I found a marriage of Dorothea to Henry Bradford 30 Nov 1939 in the Catholic Marriage Registers on Find My Past.
She married at St Francis, Gorbals on 30 Nov 1939 to Henry Bradford of 360 Cumberland Street, the son of William Bradford and Isabella Barclay. She was the daughter of John McGowan and Elizabeth Neil, the marriage was of mixed religions and the witnesses were John McGowan and Mary Ann McGowan. I have assumes that these were Dorothea’s brother and sister though I suppose John could be her father.

I had a quick look and also found some likely children for this couple; Elizabeth McGowan Bradford b 1941, William Bradford b 1946 and Henry Bradford b 1952 – all in Gorbals RD

Lisa didn’t have the information but I found her baptism.
She was born 26 March 1922 and was baptised 8 April 1922 at
St John the Evangelist, Portugal Street, Glasgow. Her father is given as Joannis (John) McGowan and her mother is Elizabeth Chrystal McGowan or Neil. The address is 10 1/2 Eglinton Lane.
A note says that on 25 Feb 1949 a marriage contract was made between her and Joanne (John) Russel at St Roberts, Househillwood.

I looked for a death for her and the nearest I could find were these two entries in the death indexes from Scotland’s People

Interestingly, of course, her baptism registration mentions her later marriage to John Fulton DG Russell. Perhaps she married the Fulton mentioned above and the priest wrote down the name in error in the baptismal register and perhaps she went on to marry a McDonald after his death. Speculation but plausible.
