    An Experiment With Chat GPT – what can you tell me about being a weaver in the Glasgow of the 1820s ?

    I tried asking Chat GPT some questions about the life of a weaver in Glasgow in the 1820s and in particular, the housing conditions and industrial development and inventions in the weaving industry in Glasgow at that time and going forward. It came up with some very good copy. I went ont to ask about demography and immigration in Glasgow 1820-1840. Again it did very well and provided excellent skeletons on which to add some flesh for the family history web site.
