For some time now I have been recording my family history research results on a static HTML and CSS website. As the site has got bigger and more complex, I have decided to develop it as a Wordpress site using the free Kadence Theme and Kadence Blocks. THis blog explains why.

Various of my WordPress web sites were loading extremely slowly on my 1&1 Ionos hosting and I was keen to try out an alternative hosting company to see if I could get better load speeds. I looked at a few of the options and settled on Hostinger.
I tried asking Chat GPT some questions about the life of a weaver in Glasgow in the 1820s and in particular, the housing conditions and industrial development and inventions in the weaving industry in Glasgow at that time and going forward. It came up with some very good copy. I went ont to ask about demography and immigration in Glasgow 1820-1840. Again it did very well and provided excellent skeletons on which to add some flesh for the family history web site.
